WINNIPEG, MB – Through Unseen, Unknown, and Unsolved: Disappearances and Trafficking of Indigenous Individuals in Canada and the United States, Thomson Reuters offers fundamental research into the cross-border crisis of violence impacting our peoples. This research shows the intense mobility, across provinces, states and national borders and underscores that the genocide impacting missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and 2SLBTQQIA+ peoples is one which cannot be minimized. Instead, our response must include solutions that are equally bold and capable of matching the size and scale of these atrocities.
This is a genocide that is occurring across North America, and it is only through research like this – which shines much needed light on the scale and severity of the crisis – that we are able to begin the process of ending it.
